The road is straight, well we are driving through the flattest expanse of earth in the Southern Hemisphere - the Hay Plains. Lots of folk think there is nothing to see, to me that is everything.
There are subtle changes to the landscape as the km fly buy, salt bush and low grasses finally give way to scrub and tree lined creeks. We spot roos, emus, goats and more goats. Wonderful sightings of Wedgetail eagles and a big flock of the stunning Major Mitchell Cockatoos. No budgies yet though. The 'Long Paddock' app describes historic places along the way, my favourite this wonderful old homestead. We arrived at White Cliffs in the heart of opal fossicking country, and after another magic sunset, enjoyed a pub dinner and the hospitality at the caravan park.

Our Country is so big & beautiful. Love your photos. So are you travelling up the inland way & coming back down the Coastal route? For some reason, I thought you'd travel the other way round. x
Yes inland and down the coast. Awesome time of the year to be outback.
