A beautiful sunrise, Max was up in time to get some photos. 😘
There is a walking track through the Granite boulders here in the Dead Horse Gully campground, so after breakfast we strolled along the dry creek beds and enjoyed spotting wildflowers ... a highlight for me was a late blooming Sturt Desert Pea.
We drove the sightseeing Gorge Loop East of Tibooburra, you could be mistaken for thinking you were driving through rolling green hills of fertile country. A step or two into the green reveals Gibber Plains hidden by the flourish of hardy Aussie battlers that have had to survive years of drought. One interesting thing for our trip so far is the lack of road kill, thankfully enough food to keep them from feeding on the verge of the roads. We saw a small flock of the elusive Bourkes Parrot today, but I only managed some very poor shots of it in the low light and cloudy conditions, here is one from the internet. The light on the rocks at sunset, though was stunning.
