Camerons Corner ... That often talked about place over the years that Max would point out on a map and hope to get to one day. Today was the day. The 140km each way was recently repaired but still lots of corrugations and washout etc, so a tiring trip. What skill and resilience the surveyors of yesteryear had, battling floods and water shortages over two years to achieve the determination of the borders.
1210 we open the gate from NSW
1211 we are in South Australia,
1213 we were in Queensland.
Amazing to see water lying in the desert, and Lake Pinaroo filled for the first time in over 10 years, Flocks of budgies scattered from the side of the road, and kites flew low over head. National Parks has a scenic drive scattered here and there with giant sculptures of endangered species made from chicken wire. They were beautifully done.
At the end of the day I walked through an old gold mining precinct near our camp. More stories of extreme hardship in an extreme environment. We surely aren't as tough as our early settlers battling along in heat and flies and drought with none of the technology and transport and government assistance there is today.

How lucky are you to see Lake Pinaroo with water. Love the wagon.
