Exploring Kilcowera

Good Morning

Wherever you go you always take the…Washing with you :). The shearing shed has accommodation and a laundry so all the dusty red clothes are clean again for now… sure dries quick out here.

Looking out over a small section of Kilcowera Station

We drove over some very bad 4wd tracks today to get to the back of Currawinya Lakes. It is a major inland waterway and the last time we were here we saw hundreds of birds, and about a dozen different species … today the lake had shrunk significantly and one lonely sooty cormorant was it. Very disappointed. On the plus side the receding waters had left a wildflower display filled with butterflies. Did spy a couple of new birds to us, a few small flocks of magnificent budgies, some fascinating trees and flowers, a wallaby and a herd of cows.

Back to a campfire and a peaceful end to our few days here. Sad to think we won’t be back.

who am I?

Good evening
