Julia Creek

We are not alone...now that we have hit the tar - main highways- there are a lot more caravans and motorhomes out here. Lots of towns folk think it's because of covid... people holidaying in Aus, it certainly is the busiest we have seen.

The little RV camp outside Julia Creek on a pretty piece of water is overwhelmed with 40 + vans each night, many move on the next day and only a handful remain, and about 2 in the afternoon and they roll in once again.
Julia Creek, a town of 400 or so, was the first European settlement in north western Queensland. It has a famous Dunart display and info centre which we couldn't see... closed on weekends. But we did wander the street and check out a museum of the towns history, took a silly photo or two and of course, joined the chorus at happy hour.
We are now on Croc alert, here there are Freshies... tomorrow we are into salt water croc country.
